UN Photo/Mark Garten .الأمين العام أنطونيو غوتيريش يتحدث إلى الصحفيين في مقر الأمم المتحدة في نيويورك.

Tomorrow, I head to Sevilla for the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development which we are co-hosting with Spain.  Before I leave, I wanted to say a few words about the situation in Gaza. Residents face constant threats of settler violence, demolitions, and movement restrictions. As most families rely on herding and agriculture for their livelihoods, settler encroachment and restricted grazing zones have left many in dire economic conditions.

Briefing by Jonathan Whittall, Head of OCHA OPT, to journalists in Deir al Balah, Gaza Strip

Text as prepared for delivery: While the world’s attention is elsewhere, people in Gaza today are being killed trying to reach food. The attempt to survive is being met with a death sentence.
